JasperSoft is offering a report designer as a plug-in to the open source Eclipse application development environment.
The iReport Plug-In for Eclipse is a graphical designer used to add reporting functions to applications. The new tool, along with JasperSoft's reporting libraries, are available at no charge under open-source licenses, company officials said Monday.
The plug-in is the first integration of JasperSoft's open-source business intelligence products with Eclipse. IReport enables Java developers to build software capable of generating ready-to-print reports in PDF, HTML, XLS, CSV, TXT and XML formats.
JasperSoft also offers the JasperIntelligence suite of open source business intelligence applications that enable managing interactive reports from a server, scheduling reports, and analyzing data.
JasperSoft products are available for download on the Web, and are distributed under the General Public License.
