The National Science Foundation and the Office of Personnel Management are the only two out of 26 federal agencies that have met the criteria for E-government success. However, 19 agencies showed "solid progress" toward meeting E-government success last year, according to a new Office of Management and Budget report on the status of each agency's ability to electronically deliver services to citizens, businesses, and other government offices.

E-government success status requires that an agency has put priority functions online and addressed the associated security, performance, and risk issues.

The report recognized NSF for RaDiUS, a database that provides information via the Web about federally funded research and development. The OPM got high marks for its USAJobs site, which averages 200,000 federal-job-seeker visits a day.

Any agency can tap into the E-government fund, for which the president has requested $5 million for 2005.
