Is Microsoft looking for people to alpha-test Office 14, the next version of its Office productivity suite?According to a blog posting by a Microsoft employee, which showed up Aug. 15 but now links to an error message, the answer is yes. The post called for people to be part of a technology adoption program that will give them an opportunity to test the monitoring and analytics components of Office PerformancePoint Server, the business performance analysis software that will be a part of the Office 14 release. The post also said the Alpha process would begin this November or December, with a deadline for submission set at Aug. 28.
Microsoft's comment: "At this point we don?t have anything further to share on O14 build/timing -- it is too early to discuss specific features, capabilities or timing for the next release."Computerworld, ZDNet
