Miller Brewing Co. is overhauling its transportation and logistics operations with transportation-management software from Schneider Logistics Inc. The brewer, a subsidiary of SABMiller plc, will use Schneider's Web-hosted software so it can centrally control and manage all of its transportation activities and collaborate with some 500 partner wholesalers.

The software should help Miller Brewing interconnect and collaborate with its trading partners to eliminate inefficiencies in its transportation and routing processes, says Jerry McNerney, a senior research analyst at AMR Research.

A team of 10 technicians and engineers from Schneider Logistics are working on-site at Miller Brewing's headquarters in Milwaukee, then move on to five other breweries around the country. The implementation will go live in April.
