Motorola's upcoming Good Mobility Suite version 6.0 will include features that will let mobile devices access information and applications that are otherwise locked behind a company's firewall. The new suite includes "a new managed-service virtual private network (VPN) as well as an enhanced device management and security platform," reads Motorola's announcement. According to Dan Rudolph, Good's director of product marketing, the new Good Mobile Connection technology allows Windows Mobile and Palm smartphone users to access files and applications through the same secure pipe they use for their corporate e-mail. Rudolph claims the process will be transparent to the user, without any required login procedure.
The new version also gives IT managers a Web application for managing the Good-equipped devices on their network. The software should be available later this year.CNET News
