COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Senforce Technologies Inc., a mobile-security software company, unveiled a multimodule client security suite at this week's RSA Security Conference capable of providing new Wi-Fi connectivity checks and antitheft logging tools to mobile clients.

the Endpoint Security Suite 3.0 includes modules for firewalls, connectivity security, endpoint integrity and theft protection.

Senforce (Draper, Utah) works with server-based centralized tools such as virtual private network enforcers and intrusion prevention systems. It links server policy enforcement with location-aware client identifiers. Specific tools are implemented as device drivers.

Senforce calls the mobile-client model of security modules its Distributed Endpoint Enforcement Program, or DEEP. Because of the driver-level orientation, Senforce implements its firewall at NDIS, or Network Driver Interface Spec, layer. Port blocking is implemented at the NDIS layer, while separate network and application inspections are made from the TLI layer.

The connectivity management module, implemented from the server, was originally designed around WiFi, though Kip Meacham, director of product management at Senforce, said that the new release extends the management to Bluetooth, FireWire, infrared and virtually all mobile client port types.

The software oversees key management and distribution, preventing unauthorized Wi-Fi connections and "evil twin" login attempts.

The theft-protection software, an extension of what Senforce offered in storage control, provides a 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard level of file and data protection beyond what is traditionally offered as an endpoint triple-DES data encryption.

The full suite of tools in Endpoint Security Suite 3.0 is listed at $69 per client, with volume discounts offered. Individual point tools start at $39 per client.
