Gum manufacturer looks to mySAP.com to bring order to business processes
Chew on this: Leading gum manufacturer Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. is on a mission to "harmonize business processes globally," says Jeff Martin, director of Wrigley's Global Center of Excellence. Following a successful mySAP.com pilot at European facilities earlier this year, the company bought 10,000 user licenses of SAP's software. It will roll out order-processing, manufacturing, financial, and supply-chain applications in the United States in November, followed by other global locations, replacing older, nonintegrated SAP and legacy applications.
"Today, someone would have to look at several systems to get a picture of the business we're doing with Wal-Mart worldwide," Martin says. "We want to view everything from one screen."
During the next few years, Wrigley will add mySAP.com's customer-relationship management, enterprise portal, and human-resources offerings. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but Martin says the economy helped the $2.4 billion company negotiate a stellar deal with SAP.
