Oracle's annual OpenWorld conference is changing with the times-hard times in IT, that is. Monster.com, the online job board, will have its mobile unit set up at the show to give job-hunters the opportunity to surf the Internet for work. Also, Oracle is again offering free one-day passes to the exhibition portion of the conference, scheduled for Dec. 2 to 7 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Cynics might say that Oracle is trying to boost traffic, in light of poor attendance at many recent IT events. But with the unemployment rate for IT workers hovering around 5%, any chance to network is sure to be welcomed by Silicon Valley techies.
