Citing customer demand for business intelligence, better IT performance, and lower IT costs, Oracle's executive vice-president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa highlighted the rapid adoption of the Exadata database machine in the company's just-completed second quarter.Oracle EVP Loic le Guisquet noted in a press release that the company gained new customers in public services, communications, manufacturing, and utilities. He also said Oracle's EMEA successes included "fast adoption" of the Exadata database machine, which CEO Larry Ellison has said will become a multibillion-dollar product.
The press release also highlighted customer TAIB Bank Bahrain, which is a private investment bank that has installed Oracle software to manage company-wide risk and compliance. The bank's VP of IT, Deepak Katyal, said the products would allow it to "significantly improve our operational efficiency."
