Oracle has begun shipping its mobile-enabled E-Business Suite. Users can now access field sales and service, customer intelligence, financials, and supply-chain applications from wireless devices such as Web-enabled phones and Palms.

The E-Business Suite also will now include a warehouse management application that tracks inbound and outbound deliveries.

Jeremy Burton, senior VP of products and services marketing for Oracle, says the company also is working with Motorola Inc. to develop the "Mobile Blueprint," a foundation technology for the deployment of companies' mobile applications. "What the Blueprint is going to do is take some of the black magic out of making these systems," says Burton.

Oracle's mobile E-Business Suite requires the Oracle 9i system, and is available now as a free upgrade to current customers. Pricing for new customers varies.
