Oracle's calling the event, "Transforming the Way You Buy, Run, and Manage Your Business Systems."Oracle's announcement made no mention of the still-missing EU approval for the deal, which has cost thousands of Sun employees their jobs and Oracle several hundred million dollars. And I think the omission is perfectly fitting.
Saying the new combination will "transform the IT industry," an announcement on Oracle's website offers this glimpse into what will be discussed:

• Integrate all the components-hardware, operating system, database, middleware, and applications-for unmatched performance, reliability, and security
• Simplify IT management and reduce system deployment and integration costs
