Kadiri Inc., a developer of compensation-management applications, got a $7.5 million venture-capital payday of its own last week.

Kadiri makes a Web-based application called TotalComp that pulls data from other applications such as enterprise-resource planning and human-resources systems so that managers can budget salaries more accurately and build pay-for-performance models that draw on real-business data.

In addition to three financial investors, existing investor Towers Perrin, one of the giants of human resources consulting, contributed to this round. The company's clients include Dow Jones, The Gap, Motorola, and Wells Fargo, and most of this cash will be spent on marketing aimed at landing more blue-chip customers.
