PriceGrabber.com on Tuesday launched a comparison shopping service that enables online shoppers to compare cellular phones and plans from multiple carriers and resellers based on the consumers' preferences for monthly minutes, monthly cost and available phones.

The Cell Phones, Plans & Accessories Channel gives consumers a step-by-step process to shop and compare phones and carriers based on shoppers' criteria, officials with the Los Angeles-based comparison shopping site said.

Shoppers can specify selections including national or local coverage, select from a range of plan minutes, and pare down the list further to examine cell phone options from each carrier.

"In such a competitive and fast moving sector, the ability to find information on cell phone hardware, plans, and prices all aggregated in one convenient location is invaluable," Kamran Pourzanjani, PriceGrabber president and chief executive, said in a statement.

The new service was built with InPhonic Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based, online wireless phone and service plan provider.
