One of the long awaited devices to come out this year is the HTC Touch Pro2. It has 288MB of RAM, 512MB of storage space and a 528MHz processor. It has quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, plus Wifi and Bluetooth - the latter of which supports A2DP for stereo headsets. The keyboard slides out from the side and the screen can tilt upwards toward the user when the keyboard is out. It also sports HTC's TouchFlo 3D user interface, which I've really come to appreciate lately.
The TMoNews Blog has obtained documents for the Touch Pro2 from T-Mobile, It is $349.99 for a two year contract, $399.99 with a one year contract or $549.99 outright. A few years ago this price would have seemed reasonable - very reasonable in fact. Today though, the iPhone 3GS with 32GB of memory is $299 with a two year contract.
I have no doubt the TP2 will be a hot seller for T-Mobile. I'd be a buyer at any of those three prices if I were still with T-Mobile as it is to me unquestionably the best phone on their network. At that price point though, I doubt T-Mobile will attract too many people from other networks to theirs.
As an aside, remember that the TP2 is one of the devices that has already been announced to receive the Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade when HTC makes it available.
