Research In Motion's co-CEO implied the BlackBerry Bold continues to be delayed because it's still being tested to ensure that it doesn't have the same 3G connectivity problems that plagued the iPhone 3G earlier this summer."There's great scrutiny, as you might know, on that network and a certain device. So I guess everyone wants to be sure on every last test," Mike Lazaridis told The Associated Press.
Of course, he's referring to the much-complained-about iPhone 3G. Many were quick to blame AT&T's network for the issue, but I still have a feeling it was a software or hardware issue. So, it's good that they're taking their time to ensure that the Bold's connectivity works correctly -- I can just imagine the furor if some mission-critical data or apps were inaccessible -- but it's still a bummer not to hear a definitive release date. Additionally, this just smacks of RIM playing the blame game. Note to RIM and AT&T: People want this, but they will buy other products if you don't get it out soon.
So if you're not John Mayer, you'll have to wait even longer to grab this beast. Meanwhile, enjoy this video from CrackBerry.com:
