Samsung's Instinct HD
The new Instinct HD takes the Instinct family line to the high-end of the feature phone spectrum. Similar to the original Instinct and Instinct M30, the Instinct HD is a slab-style phone that features a large touch screen and Sprint's custom touch user interface.
Samsung has added a powerful 5 megapixel camera to the Instinct HD. Beyond the powerful camera, the Instinct HD also captures high-definition video, which can be played back on an HDTV via the Instinct HD's TV-out feature. Nice! This means you can share all your videos -- pimples and all -- with colleagues, friends and family on the big screen.
Other noteworthy features include Wi-Fi, the full-HTML capable Opera Mobile 9.7 Web browser, as well as an ambient light sensor and accelerometer. It also features a proximity sensor with haptic feedback that gives users a gentle vibration as they use the virtual QWERTY keyboard.
The Instinct HD is compatible with most of Sprint's services, such as visual voicemail, Sprint TV, threaded SMS messaging, social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, and Microsoft Exchange email.
The device will be available Sunday, September 27 only at Best Buy Mobile stores for $250 (Sprint didn't explain why Best Buy gets the exclusive). It will hit Sprint stores on October 11.
