Samsung Telecommunications America will introduce nine new wireless devices in the current quarter in the U.S. including some models that will include FOTA (firmware over the air) technologies, company officials said Monday.

Cell phone service providers, the firm added, are beginning to introduce FOTA technologies, which enable users to accept software upgrades by clicking a handset button.

Samsung said by the end of the year it will have introduced 18 phone models in the U.S. while the number of handset models introduced throughout the world by Samsung will total 140 unique models.

On the high end in the U.S., Samsung will introduce the p735 " a twist and flip handset with digital camera, video recorder and MP3 player. The new e315 and c225 phones feature advanced messaging capability and Web access. The a740 handset combines voice, data, and imaging services.
