SAP's CEO, Henning Kagermann, turns 60 in July, and his contract expires in December. Under the software company's policy, employment contacts are renegotiated annually when an executive turns 60. Will the 25-year company veteran return for another year? It looks like he will. Hasso Plattner, chairman of SAP's supervisory board and co-founder of the company, will recommend at an upcoming meeting that Kagermann's contract be extended through 2008. "Hasso is confident Henning will renew given the ambitious goals we have," an SAP spokesman says. Kagermann is also chairman of SAP's executive board.
