Someone leaked some photos of what are supposed to be Microsoft's first foray into smartphone hardware. The "Turtle" and "Pure" will be made by Sharp and will run Windows Mobile software. These two phones are, well, take a look.Gizmodo published an exclusive earlier today that includes photos and some information about the two Pink devices. Both are sliders that have full QWERTY keyboards for pecking out messages. The hardware will be manufactured by Sharp, which has made the Sidekick line of devices for Danger for years.
No offense to whoever designed these phones, but they're just not going to cut it in today's market. The Turtle is aptly named. It has a large back shell that resembles -- you guessed it -- a turtle. Both phones look like they are made for kids more than for serious enterprise users.
According to the comments that have been added to the Gizmodo post, one member who claims to have been in a focus groupswho actually used the hardware said the build quality as poor. Others claim that the pictures aren't real, but are instead renders of the devices. Either way, they don't show a lot of promise.
