Sling Media plans to announce Thursday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas software that enables Microsoft Windows Mobile users to watch TV anywhere they have an Internet connection, according to reports.
New software that runs on the Microsoft Windows Mobile Platform versions 4.0 or 5.0 lets users watch TV playing live on their home TVs, or even shows stored on their TiVo devices, according to a Reuters wire story published today.
Using the new software requires the $250 Slingbox hardware, which connects a TV to the Internet.
The company also plans to unveil this week a PAL version of the Slingbox aimed at the European market.
The New York Times reported in December that Sling Media also plans to unveil this month a Macintosh version of its viewing software.
