Reports are that the Sony Ericsson Experia X1, the company's first Windows Mobile-based smartphone, featuring a touchscreen and slideout keyboard, will hit the market in early October.The Xperia X1 features a 3-inch 800x480 (WVGA) screen, 3.2 megapixel camera, and MicroSD card slot. A full QWERTY keyboard slides out from under the screen. Connectivity options include 3G HSDPA and HSUPA. WiFi. and Bluetooth.

The rumored date came from a promotional e-mail from U.K. retailer Expansys, which stated that the phone's ?release date is set for week 41,? which would be the week of October 6. The phone will cost around $1,100.The Register, IntoMobile
