Here's one for the spam record book. On its Web site, E-mail provider HotPop.com proclaims its dedication to maintaining a clear anti-spam policy: "We do not allow the sending of unsolicited bulk E-mail in any fashion. HotPop.com is 100% anti-spam."

HotPop also sends that sentiment via E-mail as an automated response to "abuse" submissions. This week, an information reporter, who had filed a complaint to HotPop in response to an unsolicited E-mail, received that very message. The twist? The perpetrator of the spam was none other than HotPop.
