Some high-tech companies seem to have a knack for making life a bit easier for moms with careers. IT companies account for about 10% of the businesses on Working Mother magazine's annual list of the 100 best places for moms to work.

Computer Associates and IBM--which also enjoys the distinction of 17 years on the list--placed in the top 10. At IBM, helping employees find quality child care and honoring a flexible work schedule are priorities, says Jim Sinocchi, director of diversity communications. The approach helps IBM attract the "best in the market," he says. "We're also proud that 61% of our executive women are mothers."
