While most indexes fell Friday, tech shares managed to close higher for the day. Our information 100 proved the biggest percentage winner, rising 0.64 points, or 0.2% for the day to close at 299.44, up 3.9% for the week.

The Nasdaq rose 3.41 points, or 0.18%, to close at 1,915.31 Friday. Both the Dow and the S&P 500 remained essentially flat, both falling 0.06% for the day. The Dow fell 5.33 points to close at 9,674.68, and the S&P 500 fell 0.67 points to close at 1,038.06.

The Nasdaq-100 tracking stock rose 0.9%, or 32 cents, to close at $35.01, on moderate trading of 68 million shares.
