Trusted Edge To Deliver Automated Retention Management Based On Microsoft's RMSTrusted Edge To Deliver Automated Retention Management Based On Microsoft's RMS
GMAC-CM adopts the technology to improve automated mortgage processes.
Trusted Edge Inc. said it is developing a retention management program that allows companies to apply retention controls to distributed and decentralized information lifecycle processes.
Built upon Microsoft's Windows Rights Management Services (RMS) for Windows Server 2003, the ILM software will employ Trusted Edge's patented capture and digital disposal technologies, which enables users to automate the capture, protection, retention and digital disposal of enterprise information.
The combination of RMS' data protection features, including encryption, persistent access controls and time-based expiration of content, coupled with the automated capture, retention and digital disposal features of Trusted Edge technology, can greatly reduce the legal, financial and fiduciary risks associated with compliance and electronic discovery, according to Trusted Edge.
"Lifecycle management begins at the first keystroke of the document creation process," says Michael Beck, CEO of Trusted Edge, in a prepared statement. "Through policy-driven capture and digital disposal, companies can for the first time enforce compliance standards at the desktop without complicating the way employees work."
Trusted Edge also said GMAC Commercial Mortgage, a commercial mortgage lender will deploy the new software to manage compliance and retention risks, reduce operating costs and complexity.
