Verity Inc., a knowledge-management app developer, remained in the black for the third quarter in a row, posting a profit of $1.4 million on revenue of $22.0 million for its first quarter ended Aug. 31. Those results compared with a loss of $2.5 million on revenue of $20.1 million a year ago. Second-quarter revenue is expected to lag the $22.6 million it made a year ago.
