When Google first announced the Nexus One Android phone, it mentioned that the device would initially be available for T-Mobile, followed later this year for Verizon Wireless and Vodafone. Well, Looks like the HTC Droid Incredible has ousted the Nexus One.Over on an official Google Nexus One blog, Verizon is no longer going to offer the Nexus One as had been first announced. Here's the tell-tale statement:
In the U.S., if you've been waiting for the Nexus One for Verizon Wireless' network, head over to VerizonWireless.com to pre-order the Droid Incredible by HTC, a powerful new Android phone and a cousin of the Nexus One that is similarly feature-packed. It will be available in stores on April 29th.
This makes sense. Once the Incredible surfaced, it seemed a moot point for Verizon to bring the Nexus One to market. They are very similar, though the Incredible upgrades the camera and comes with built-in storage when compared to the Nexus One.
Vodafone subscribers are still going to get the Nexus One. According to Google, it goes on sale in the U.K. on April 30.
