Competition has been intensifying in the cloud communications services marketplace. In response, Cloudnet has announced a promotion where customers receive free Voice over IP (VoIP) handsets. To encourage small and medium to migrate to VoIP, the company is offering them Grandstream internet phones and Siemens Cordless DECT business phones for nothing. The Grandstream GXP-2000 operator phone supports four individual lines, dual Ethernet ports, a graphical LCD display, and centralized security functions. The Siemens Cordless DECT multiline phone supports up to six handsets, 25 hours talk time, hands free calling, and 150 contact storage.
The phones are part of Cloudnet Connect service, whose pricing starts at £8.50 per month plus company calls. The service includes voicemail, call forwarding, a virtual answering capability, and call recording functions. A Flexinumber feature supports landline numbers for mobile devices. Customers can make calls within the Cloudnet network and branch to branch for free. The company claims that national and international calls are lower than calls placed over the Public Switched Telephone Network.
Cloud VoIP services enable small and medium businesses to take advantage of emerging technologies without being required to install and maintain them. Consequently, the market has been growing at a rapid clip and attracting more and more vendors. The inclusion of free handsets illustrates the creativity that suppliers are demonstrating in trying to lure new customers. Businesses can expect to find more of these special promotions as the market continues to evolve.
