The survey by market-research firm TechMetrix of more than 450 IT professionals and consultants finds that 58% favor Java as their Web-services platform and 21% use Microsoft Windows technologies. Respondents say the biggest stumbling blocks to Web services are lack of security and authentication capabilities.
