Where Is MMS For The iPhone?Where Is MMS For The iPhone?

It was two months ago that AT&T said it would enable the iPhone's MMS capability by the end of the summer. Labor Day, the unofficial end of the summer season, is just a few short weeks away. Where's MMS?Seriously, AT&T. Where is it?
Kent German at CNet thinks it is coming soon. He recently updated his iPhone to software version 3.0.1. After updating, he noticed that MMS commands re-appeared in the iPhone's menu structure. In other words, the option to compose an MMS was available when previously it wasn't. After poking around his iPhone for a bit, he noticed that the carrier profile for his iPhone was at 5.0.
I updated my iPhone to OS 3.0.1 last week, too. I have not seen any of the MMS commands that German refers to on my iPhone. Nada. Upon checking my carrier profile, it lists it as 4.0.
The commands had been present in the beta versions of iPhone OS 3.0 that were offered to developers between April and June of this year. I remember using them briefly, even though the service wasn't activated.
Does this carrier profile update mean something? Is 5.0 the carrier profile necessary for MMS sending? Is MMS about to become enabled for iPhone users? Or is it a simply fluke?
Given how long iPhone users have had to wait for this feature to arrive, we can only hope that it truly is on the way.
