This blog often extols the virtues of offshore outsourcing. We think it's good for the economy, corporate profits, domestic employment and even international relations. But we're not the only ones who believe this.Writing on Yahoo.com on Wednesday, public policy expert Charles Wheelan provides a number of solid reasons why outsourcing to India is good for America and American workers.
And if you're still not convinced that the U.S. will depend on outsourcing, as well as immigrant workers, to keep its economy humming in the near future, then check out this AP report. It notes concerns at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce about a severe worker shortage as more and more baby boomers hit retirement age.
The fact is, there is an increasing body of evidence that suggests that the U.S. economy does not just benefit from offshoring--it flat out depends on it. Nice to know we're not a lone voice in the wilderness.
