Steve Wozniak, the fella that helped Steve Jobs get Apple off the ground, loves his iPhones, but has found a new affection for Android. Which two foot soldiers in the Android Army has Wozniak selected?Despite the fact that Steve Wozniak is no longer employed by Apple, he sure turns up here and there to Apple's benefit. When the first iPhone launched in 2007, he was spotted waiting in line at a California Apple Store just like any regular Joe. He may use an iPhone, but that's not the only device he likes to tinker with.
"In my life, I must have been through a hundred different cell phones," Wozniak said in a recent interview. "That's a serious estimate. I got my first one in the '90s, from Motorola. At one point, I had a special VIP model that came in black and you couldn't get in the store."
Seems his fondness for Motorola's has remained intact, despite the iPhone. He now uses the Droid from Motorola. Motorola's Droid is, perhaps, still the finest Android device available. However, that didn't stop the Woz from straying. He also picked up the Google Nexus One.
Woz said in a comment on a blog post, "I buy most of the significant gadgets that come out...I did not buy an Android right away but I did like the looks of the Motorola Droid so I bought it. When you buy a gadget and it works without hours of figuring things out, it's a joy. At different points in time you'll find me with different Blackberries and other phones. At the time of this interview I carried 2 iPhones (battery and multitasking fixed) and the Droid on my belt. And I do enjoy the Droid and it does my normal stuff fine, but it will take some time to find apps equal to some that are important on my iPhones. When the Nexus One came out I put the Droid aside and shifted to checking out the Nexus One. I'm always on the watch for the latest hot gadgets. When I don't like new gadgets, I keep my mouth shut. It's better to focus on the good. I'm not the conflict type of person so I don't try to get into arguments you never win about which is better. But if I only carried my iPhones, I wouldn't have as good an idea of how others do with their alternate choices."
