The pending deal for Yahoo to place Google-supplied ads alongside Yahoo search results is drawing a lot of attention from state and federal antitrust regulatory agencies."We're concerned about the anticompetitive effect of certain linkages between advertisers and other issues," said Richard Blumenthal, attorney general for the state of Connecticut. In addition to Connecticut, the investigating task force includes operations in Missouri, Arkansas, Florida, and other states. Blumenthal went on to warn the two tech giants to wait for the verdict: moving ahead with the partnership without the states' blessing would be at "their own peril," he said.
Google CEO Eric Schmidt, on the other hand, said that the tech giants plan to move forward with the partnership in October.CNET
