Yahoo on Friday started offering news video from the British Broadcasting Corp. in an agreement signed with distributor ABC News. Financial details were not disclosed.

Under the deal, Yahoo News users get access to about 30 BBC clips a day in the categories of top stories, breaking news, U.S. and world news, sports, business, politics, technology, health, and entertainment. ABC is the exclusive distributor for BBC News on-demand broadband and wireless content in North America.

Bernard Gershon, senior VP and general manager of ABC's Digital Media Group, said in a statement that the deal was a "strong first step that joins the esteemed journalism of the BBC with the innovation of Yahoo News in an effort to reach consumers anytime and anywhere."

Scott Moore, head of news and information at the Yahoo Media Group, said the BBC had a "cool factor" with younger audiences. Yahoo News in general has a younger audience than other news organizations, Moore said.
