Online application provider Zoho has launched Zoho People, a "people management and recruitment solution," to join its other business-oriented offerings.Zoho's roster of online solutions already includes such standard office productivity applications as a word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation software, but also includes more business-oriented applications like project management and CRM modules. Zoho People adds tools for organization, forms generation, and recruitment.

According to a post by Zoho's Raju Vegesna on the company's blog, Zoho People is aimed at small but growing businesses. "Very small businesses can keep track of people in ad-hoc ways, (spreadsheets work!)," he said, "but once a company reaches a certain size (even 25-30) keeping track of things like recruitment, IT resource allocation, benefits, vacations, skill management etc. becomes time consuming. In fact, that is the level at which a business typically gets a dedicated HR person. That is where Zoho People steps in." Pricing was not discussed in the blog post, but Vegesna has been quoted as saying the service would cost about $50/month for administrators and $50/year for employees.CNET News, Computerworld
