In a move to strengthen its IT executive team, Bank One Corp., a $270 billion Chicago financial-services firm, has hired James Ditmore as chief technology officer for infrastructure and operations, and Thomas Kelly as senior VP and head of IT supply chain, a new position.

Ditmore, formerly CIO at Ameritrade Holding Corp., will be responsible for Bank One's networking platforms, data centers, and other IT operational infrastructures. He replaces Mike Keller, who left Bank One in April to take the CIO position at Nationwide Insurance.

Kelly, formerly president and chief operation officer of online media company e3mil Inc., will oversee contracts with major IT suppliers. Both Ditmore and Kelly will report to CIO Austin Adams.
