Casio has introduced a megazoom traveler's camera that the company says provides ultra-precise location data for the geotagging of photos and video.

The EX-H20G, introduced Monday, is the latest offering in the company's EXILIM hi-zoom line. The latest camera is the first in the market to be able to geotag indoors, according to Casio. The EX-H20G is outfitted with a 24mm, wide-angle, 10x optical zoom lens, but the differentiating feature is the beefed up geotagging capabilities.

Rather than display only GPS coordinates of the user, the EX-H20G can display the photographer's current location, as well as geotagged photos and videos, on a map that's displayed on the 14-megapixel camera's 3-inch LCD screen. In addition, the camera is preloaded with information on 10,000 sightseeing photo spots around the world and automatically alerts users when they are near a point-of-interest.

With the EX-H20G, Casio is trying to appeal to vacationers. People can use the camera's on-screen map to plan their destinations based on the points of interest and photo locations in the area they are visiting. They can also use the map and the camera's digital compass to map the best route to a location.

Geotagged photos and video can be shared on websites offering geotagging functionality, such as Picasa, Panoramio, Google Earth, Flickr and iPhoto on an Apple Mac. These sites have the capabilities to map the photos.

Other features include the ability to record 720p high-definition video at 30 frames per second. The point-and-shoot camera also has a 360-degree panorama mode.

The EX-H20G is scheduled to be available in November for $350.

Last month, Kodak launched a 14-megapixel EasyShare point-and-shoot camera with 5x zoom lens and 2.7-inch LCD screen. While the camera does not have the geotagging capabilities of he EX-H20G, Kodak's M590 has a new "share" button that simplifies the process of tagging a picture or video and then moving it directly to a social network, such as Facebook and YouTube. The M590, which can take 720p video, set for release in the fall with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $200.
