Small business intelligence vendor Datawatch reported increases in revenue and net income for its fiscal fourth quarter, attributing the improved performance to better sales on all its product lines.
Datawatch earned $266,000 on sales of $5,024,000 in the quarter ended Sept. 30, up from income of $182,000 on revenue of $4,002,000 in the same period last year. Annual sales rose 9 percent to $19,335,000. Annual earnings rose 28 percent to $1,085,000.
The company's quarterly and annual results reflect a benefit of $148,000 related to deferred tax liabilities associated with Datawatch's acquisition of content management software firm Mergence Technologies, in August of this year.
Datawatch makes applications for the enterprise reporting, business intelligence, data replication and help desk markets. CEO Robert Hagger attributed revenue improvements to across-the-board increases in sales among all its product categories. Datawatch also introduced a new subscription model for users of its report management and service management products, which the company said was "well received" by customers.
