Intelligent Enterprise Event Calendar 2009Intelligent Enterprise Event Calendar 2009
On a tight budget this year? Don't skip education. Find the enterprise-oriented events that are closest to home.
Tough economic conditions may put a crimp in travel budgets, but that doesn't mean you can't stay up to date on latest technologies and approaches to solving business problems. This year's Intelligent Enterprise Event Calendar is bigger than ever, listing more seminars, conferences and expositions so you're more likely to find educational events that are closer to home. We've also added more International events for the sizeable percentage of site visitors from Europe, Canada, South America and elsewhere. Read on for some of the highlights among 2009 events and pointers on how to use this year's calendar.
Many of the IE-reader staple events are in the usual places this year, with TDWI, for example, visiting Vegas, Chicago, San Diego and Orlando as usual. Gartner, on the other hand, has given up the Windy City for this year's March BI Summit and has moved it to Washington D.C. One all-new event sure to interest many IE readers is Predictive Analytics World, which is set for February in San Francisco (just follow the links below to find dates and locations and then click through to the related Event Web sites).
Vegas and Orlando continue to be popular show destinations, but those in and around San Francisco, New York and London will find plenty of events to choose from. Boston and San Diego also get their due, but Washington D.C. seems to be the rising star, partly due to the opening of the Gaylord National Harbor Resort and Washington D.C. Convention Center. The other part? Well, we're guessing show producers and exhibitors are also hoping to tap stable government budgets.
Kimball University courses are offered this year in expected places such as New York, London, Chicago and Anaheim as well as in less-typical event destinations such as Sydney, Australia, Stockholm, Sweden, and Johannesburg, South Africa.
Looking for cutting-edge topics? TechWeb, the publisher of this Web site, hosts the March Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco, June's Enterprise 2.0 Conference in Boston as well as the upcoming (January 20-22) Cloud Connect Event in Mountain View, CA.
This year's IE Event Calendar is so vast, we had to break it into two pages covering January through May and June through December. We'll be on the lookout for events we missed and events that have yet to be scheduled for later this year. So take a look now, stay tuned for more listings and make your plans for enrichment in 2009.
Happy New Year from Intelligent Enterprise.
