Now that we can use our Sprint phones to make online retail purchases, I can imagine Americans' credit card debt racking up faster than ever. Do we need to be able to buy things from our phones?Hell yeah! This is America, dagnabbit, and we should to be able to buy what we want, when we want, through whichever means we want. And that includes mobile phones. Afterall, we can't let the wheels of commerce get rusty.
Of course, it's no problem at all to let ourselves go to pot, as we no longer even have to get out of bed to perform mundane tasks such as shopping. Feel free to buy things from atop your Sealy Posturepedic. What could be more relaxing?
If you look at the list of merchants who have signed on to this program, they pretty much cover the gambit of potential needs. I mean, c'mon, who can't live without 24/7 access to Musician's Friend and Tire Rack? Since my guitar needs new strings, and my car needs new tires, I am in total luck!
Seriously, though, there is some cool technology involved here. And while I've made purchases from my phone before, they usually involve a merchant's WAP site and hopping through endless loops to browse, find and complete purchases. I haven't had a chance to demo this new service from Sprint, but by the sound of it, it should be a bit faster and easier to navigate.
All you need is some plastic, baby.
