Pegasystems rounded out functionality in its business process management software to include new capabilities that help users collaborate with each other, model work processes, and analyze process data more effectively.

The BPM software, SmartBPM suite, includes new case management functionality that lets users issue correspondence, invitations and alerts related to processes. Pegasystems also added online analytical tools designed to enable the building of data warehouses related to work information.

A new modeling component lets users simulate new processes before they go live and run "what-if" scenarios. Pegasystems also added several integration elements to the software, including industry-standard enterprise connectors and adapters, easier portal integration and a content management component.

SmartBPM runs on Microsoft Windows, Linux, IBM AIX, IBM z/OS and Sun Solaris. Supported databases include Oracle, IBM DB2 Universal Server and Microsoft SQL Server.

Pricing information was not immediately available. Pegasystems licenses the BPM suite as a whole or in selected components.
