IBM will provide mainframe computer and midrange server support, help desk services, and large-scale printing services.
IBM has signed a multimillion dollar contract to provide a range of IT services to Scotiabank Mexico, a wholly owned subsidiary of Canada's Bank of Nova Scotia.
Under the deal, disclosed Wednesday, IBM will provide Scotiabank Mexico with mainframe computer and midrange server support, help desk services for 7,000 employees at 400 branches and offices, and large-scale printing services.
The deal extends an existing contract between IBM and Scotiabank Mexico. The new contract is for seven years and expires in 2013, an IBM spokesman says.
IBM also is implementing a new disaster recovery plan for the bank that will allow it to quickly restore critical IT operations during an emergency.
IBM did not disclose more specific financial terms of the deal or its length. Company officials were not immediately available for comment.
