Want to keep closer tabs on your body and how well it's functioning? The BodyMedia FIT "body-monitoring system" could be for you. The product consists of an upper armband that you wear around the clock, an online utility, and free companion mobile apps. The armband uses four sensors to measure "skin temperature, galvanic skin response, heat flux, and motion and movement through a 3-axis accelerometer."

We interviewed Nic Wilson of BodyMedia about the BodyMedia Fit product, which he demonstrated and explained:

When you plug the armband into a USB port, it uploads data to the BodyMedia online activity manager. The BodyMedia iPhone and Android apps let you log the food you eat from a phone or tablet and, if you have the Bluetooth-enabled version of the armband, get minute-by-minute data on calorie burn, activity levels, and quality of sleep.

The Bluetooth model costs $199. A smaller non-Bluetooth model costs $179. The activity manager service is an additional $6.95 a month.
