SPSS Inc. has combined its predictive-analytics and text-mining technologies into one application for analyzing unstructured text data to help predict customer behavior.

The Predictive Text Analytics software can analyze notes written by call-center workers to help identify customers about to defect to competitors, for example. It also has applications in market-survey analysis and life-sciences research.
