Akimbo plans to provide through its set-top box the ability to browse a selection of popular video updated regularly from the Yahoo Video service. The titles will be available at no additional charge.

Akimbo's video-on-demand hardware costs $200, plus an additional $10 a month for its service. The company offers through its onscreen guide access to more than 14,000 movies, TV series, and other shows from more than 200 content partners. The company offers Hollywood studio movies through a partnership with Movielink.

Akimbo announced the Yahoo deal Wednesday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The new offering is expected to be available later this year.
