Computer Sciences Corp. has secured a $62 million contract to provide a range of IT services to Anglian Water, England's largest water company. The five-year deal extends CSC's existing contract with Anglian Water through 2010.

Among other things, CSC will help Anglian Water develop and manage applications that underlie the company's billing, operations management, and geographic information systems. It will also help Anglian Water adapt its SAP enterprise-resource-planning software for uses specific to the water industry, such as the management of water treatment and pumping stations.

Anglian Water provides drinking water and related products and services to more than 4.2 million customers in England and Wales. The company boasts that its environmental-management programs have produced river water with purity levels not seen in England since before the industrial revolution.
