IBM said Wednesday that it has signed a three year deal to provide computer services to Dansk Supermarked A/S, operator of Denmark's largest chain of retail stores.

Under the deal, IBM Global Services will provide a range of IT infrastructure services -- including support for a new SAP system -- to Dansk stores in Denmark, as well outlets owned by the retailer in Germany, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

The contract, an extension of an existing deal that was signed in 2004, runs through 2009. Financial terms were not disclosed.

In a statement, Dansk IT director Alan Jensen said the decision to outsource application support was based on the retailer's need to "quickly adapt to fast-changing demands in the market."
