Dell has refreshed its Vostro line of laptops with a 3000 series that packs more computing and graphics power.

The new series, which is aimed at small and medium-sized business, sport Intel's latest Core processors and have display sizes ranging from 13 inches to 17 inches. Starting prices range from $649 to $679.

All of the Vostro 3000 laptops have embedded Webcams and microphones for collaboration through videoconferencing. The larger models, the 15-inch 3500 and 17-inch 3700, are available with an optional, high-definition WLED screen. The 3700 also offers the option of up to a 1 GB Nvidia GeForce discrete graphics card.

The systems have wireless connectivity options of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G mobile broadband, ship with Microsoft Windows 7, and support up to 6 GB of DDR3 system memory.

The Vostro 3000 series was released Tuesday in the United States and parts of Asia. The systems will be released in Europe and Latin America in the middle of the month. All the systems include a 30-day return policy.

Dell on Tuesday also introduced 15.6-inch mobile workstation. The Precision M4500 is available with an optional quad-core Intel Core i7-920XM Extreme Edition processor. Other options include an Nvidia Quadro FX 1800M or FX 880M graphics card with up to 1 GB of memory.

The new workstation has a starting weight of six pounds and is available with 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows 7, Vista or XP; as well as Red Hat Linux 5.3. The system is scheduled to be available in the coming weeks. Pricing was not disclosed.
