Red Hat Inc. plans to acquire the assets of America Online's former Netscape Security Solutions unit in a deal valued at $23 million. Red Hat expects to receive Netscape Directory Server and Netscape Certificate Management System. In a filing last week with the government, Red Hat said it should start marketing these products as part of its Open Source Architecture within a year.
