Salesforce.com Inc. on Monday will unveil a new version of its hosted software platform, salesforce.com S3, with more than 100 new features.

Thirty-three tools have been added to improve productivity, such as a shared-documents library and a business-process and workflow manager, the company says. Another 33 tools are aimed at improving security and business continuity: A data console maximizes control over who has access to particular customer data, and support for local database mirroring is included.

"We've made about $10 million in data-center improvements to help the experience be more scalable, have higher security, higher performance levels, and more memory," says Tien Tzuo, VP of product management at Salesforce. "We're investing in the back end to make sure the security and reliability are there, because we want that to continue to stay true for our customers."

The new version also includes tools such as a setup wizard and best-practice E-mail templates to simplify CRM.

S3 is available immediately. Existing customers can upgrade at no cost.
